In the UK, we are cutting back on supporting young musicians and yet it is a vitally important part of education across our nation. Teaching and tutoring gives opportunities to committed musicians. Not every family is as talented as the Kanneh Masons, yet surely it is a good for all school children to get an opportunity to play an instrument. This short film shows this family playing together. Sheku has also played at Harry and Megan’s wedding, at Edinburgh International Festival and the 2019 Proms.
Music expands our minds, our cultural horizons as well us giving us a new language and complex skill set.
I think this was a good investment of my taxes, what about you?
